Sleepyheads and Busy Boys

RL sometimes wanders into our room in the middle of the night or very early morning, asking to sleep in our bed. Last night he did this and when I told him I needed to take him back to his room he said, "I want to sleep in your bed just a little minute." And he did. Here's a photo from Christmas morning, when he got to stay til the sun came up! He also frequently says to me at night, "Mom, will you put me in bed?" This is new to me (none of the girls ever did this) and so adorable! Probably has something to do with us breezing through our days without his getting naps and his being worn out by the evening! Gran made "Laura Ingalls" style night caps for the girls, and from time to time I catch them asleep in them...here's SJ, aka "Carrie"! Along those lines, we are working our way through all the seasons of LHOTP (now in Season 5) and truth be told, T and I are just as taken with it as the girls. (But we don't have nightcaps:) Love this little guy! How big is SA? SOOOOO big! SA is very interested in the cat, Fiona. He is always happy to see her and his version of "cat" was probably his first "word"! He would army-crawl across the patio to get to her (Ok, really him, our neighbors hastily names the cat after they saw Shrek years ago, then realized they were wrong, but the name stuck!) Loving those warm winter days when we've had them... RL just scooting around! He's asking lately to ride a real bike...guess it's time to put the training wheels back on!

More Christmas 2012

I was so excited to find some additional P family Christmas pics that Trey's uncle had sent him recently! (Not sure how to fix the weird layout of the photos/text here...) 4 oldest (SA was napping) with Nana and Grandpa Mimi and PawPaw with all their grandkids and great-grankids! Love this one! The Big News

Well, clearly it's been a while and I have some catching up to do. But I just realized that we have news that anyone who reads this probably heard months ago, but I haven't officially recorded here: We are looking forward to welcoming a new little boy, Lord willing, in early June! We found out he's a boy in January and surprised the kids that night with a cake that revealed the news with blue icing inside. Here they are, ready to find out! While each had his/her own guess as to whether it was a boy or girl, no one seemed to have a heart set on either, and the collective response when the found out it's a boy was sort of underwhelming! Thankfully the excitement about having another baby in general has been very evident, however, since the moment they found out back at Thanksgiving! The weeks are going faster than ever, and I can hardly believe next week will mark the beginning of the third trimester. Now that it's March it seems the end of the school year is right around the corner, and this whole pregnancy I've been thinking of the due date in terms of it being just a few weeks after the girls get out of school. So suddenly it seems to be getting close! We are so thankful to the Lord that all seems to be going well and look forward to having him here and spending the summer at home together!
