The Boys

We're loving the boys these days. Clearly they are at very different stages, but both so adorable in their own ways. RL, since the holidays, has totally taken off verbally and puts together longer strands of words more quickly each day. He's got lots to say, and when he's not talking, he's often singing. When we put him to bed, he usually says, "Sing Holy, Holy" and "Sing Jesus Love Me" and then at the end of the song, he whispers "chachacha"! Don't know where he got this...maybe heard some kids do it as they sang "happy birthday"? He repeats what we say alot, and at quieter times, he often whispers. When he sees letters, he says, "ABCses!" He's very friendly and often tells people, "Hey!"...just this week he watched the termite guy inspecting our house and yelled, "Hey...man!" He adds a "t" sound to lots of words before an "s" sound...such as "houtse" and "tennits", etc. And when he wants to get out or get up, he says, "Glout!" and "Glup!" Probably my favorite is his eagerness to snuggle...lots of days he gets out of his bed and the first thing he says is "Snuggle mommy" or "Snuggle Daddy" or "Snuggle blanket." We always have time for that! Here he is snuggling his baby brother.

Surrounded by sweeties...these girls love their brothers, too!

Our baby bear...

SA is continuing to grow and is doing some new things from time to time. He likes to hold rattles and has become a thumbsucker in the last month. He also rolled over for the first time back in January and I happened to have the camera out when he did it:

"What just happened! That was fun!"

We are so thankful for these little guys.

Fun with Nana and Grandpa

We went on to Nana and Grandpa's on our Christmas vacation trip, and here's a little of what we did there.

RL went straight for the Hot Wheels...

The guys watched some football...

and we spent a day at the Children's Museum...lots of fun!

This was the year RL was introduced to some action figure-type characters...here he is with the Batmobile. He also got a Star Wars figure he calls "Chewbacco".

We loved our time with all our family this year!

Christmas at PopPop and Gran's

After church and lunch we went to Gran and PopPop's to continue our Christmas celebration. While we were there we got to see Uncle David, Uncle Doug, and Aunt Vicki, too.

SA got to hang out with PopPop.

PopPop played Chinese checkers with all the kids, and these two might have been his toughest competition...they make up their own rules!

RL dancing with Santa (or the guy he called "Sin Claw" all through the season) and entertaining Uncle David!

Christmas Morning

We woke up at our house for Christmas morning and opened some gifts before breakfast and going to a special Christmas worship service. How fun to make some special memories right at home on our first Christmas in this house!

RL was excited!

More Narnia books on CD...

Christmas Eve

Finally I am posting some Christmas photos! We had a wonderful holiday, starting, as usual, with Christmas Eve spent with Grandpa's family "across the big bridge"!

First we went to see Mimi and PawPaw and introduced SA! He and Mimi got along well...

and RL was happy to see PawPaw!

That evening we enjoyed dinner and exchanged gifts with aunts, uncles, and cousins. The girls are always thrilled to see their big girl cousins, L and A.

RL was happy to just hang out...

and to be with the other 3 RLPs.

We passed SA around...here he is kicking around with Nana watching over him.

The kids and Nana finished off the night around the fire outside while we loaded up to head back across the big bridge so we could wake up for Christmas morning at home.

SA wearing his cozy blue bear sleeper...aka his "magic sleep suit" as he went to bed the night before his first Christmas!

More to come!
