This year we did things a little different than usual. Instead of driving from T's aunt and uncle's house to my parents' house (about 3.5 hours away) on Christmas day as we always have before, we came back to our house and then the next morning my parents came to us. It was so nice to have some Christmas festivities at our house! Although I must admit I didn't do the traditional celebration I'd always envisioned by cooking a huge meal and getting out all the fine china, we did some fun and special things that the girls really enjoyed, and we all enjoyed watching them, playing along, and not worrying about the cooking and dishes so much!
Number one on AG's agenda for Gran and PopPop was having a tea party, which she'd been planning since she heard they were coming to our house for Christmas. As soon as they arrived she set the table up and made sure everyone had all the sweets and drinks they wanted.
We took advantage of the very unwintery weather...it was downright balmy the second day they were here...and spent alot of time outside. The girls were glad to get back into the swings and bouncer, and we had a picnic lunch on the patio.

SJ got into the sidewalk chalk but she got more on herself than on the ground. With her black fleecy pants, she was basically a big eraser from the waist down!
Even though we did alot of unseasonable activities, we did also have a good time celebrating Christmas in more traditional ways with Gran and PopPop, too! It was fun to open gifts beside our tree and to make some memories at home this year.
