Here are a few of AG's thoughts, put into words, from yesterday:
"We're going to the beach to lay around in the mud."
"I'm a doctor, I'm a doctor, I can doctor L because I'm a doctor." (She repeated this in various forms at least a hundred times, I'm sure.)
We've been keeping busy lately with our usual schedule. A few weekends ago we went to a crawfish boil for Trey's company and AG got her face painted with a rainbow and had fun playing around in the "inflatable zoo." Both girls have had fun getting sprayed with the water hose by their Daddy (who thinks this is even more fun than they do) in the evenings, and I think we'll be out buying a pool before long. We're getting ready for a fun weekend trip to Nana and Grandpa's house right now, and I am hopeful many fun photos will be taken with our new camera and posted next week.
We reached 27 weeks yesterday and this pregnancy continues to progress smoothly, it seems. Baby girl is pretty active and she seems to be growing alot, as I find it hard to believe I still have 3 months left considering how round I suddenly feel now! We were able to visit some friends from church who had their first baby girl last week at the hospital where we'll be (which is thankfully very close to our house!), so it was fun to have a little preview.
Hope y'all have a good week/weekend, and we'll post more soon!

A Few Updates
Good morning! I am, surprisingly, still the only one up here since Trey left for work. Most days AG joins me before this time, but today she is still asleep. Last night before bed I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said, "A kangaroo." The only other thing I've heard her say she wants to be so far is a bird, so it seems we have a theme here. Along those lines, for the last two nights we set a "have a heart" trap in our backyard, and last night the raccoon got himself caught. I am trying not to think about whether the Animal Control crew will have a heart or not. Moving on...
A few more of LL's most frequent sayings, which I left out last time:
"ha go"= here you go (always when she hands us things)
"tose it"= close it (always when she's just opened a cabinet she knows she
shouldn't be into)
"tean up"= clean up (she likes to say this and even sometimes helps to do
it!)
"climb, clap, walk,march"- (she says this while making motions with her
hands and highstepping, like they do during song time in the church
nursery while they sing cute songs)
hands- said climbing onto the stepstool at the bathroom sink, as in, "I
know this is what gets washed here..."
"rainies"= raisins (this has been a favorite for many months...what is
oatmeal without them?)
"belly"= library (she got a book about "Maisies" going to the library from
the library...oh the delight!)
"YAY!"- when she's done something she's happy about, usually
accompanied by hand-clapping
Hopefully this will be a "yay!" kind of day for y'all out there, too!

LLingo
LL is chattering away more and more...here are a few of her new favorite words:
"seff"=self (said before every meal to remind us that she doesn't need
any help getting the food where it needs to go!)
"huss"=horse (said any time she notices that we are sitting cross-legged,
leaving an available "horsey" foot for her to ride!)
"batoom"= both bathroom and vacuum (interpreted by context!)
"tiss"= kiss (a new way to stall at bedtime, she says this between each
step of our routine so she can go find Daddy one more time...)
"mixis" or "mootic"=music (when she wants a little tune)
"dancers"- said as a question or a request to watch her favorite (OK,
only) primetime show...Dancing with the Stars...yes, we all watch it,
but LL has the best moves on our dance floor!
"walk/out/down"- interchangeably used at all times when we go out
anywhere... Miss Independence continues to make herself known!
"bracelet, necklace, purse, headband" -of course, some combo of these
is her mantra as she accessorizes.

The Backyardigans
It's been awhile since I posted...and there are several reasons for that. One is that these are some of the only viewable pictures taken recently and will likely be the last I'll post until a new camera is settled on, since when our camera does take pictures now they all look like they are on fire. As Trey said the other day, "We could make a scary movie with this camera now." Another reason is that I've gotten bitten by the sewing bug (really for the first time ever) and have been spending most of my "down time" on that machine instead of this one. Maybe I'm nesting early? And then, also, we've been spending more time outside with the pretty days (although 90 degrees is certainly too hot for the first week of May!) and with the addition of a new piece of play equipment, pictured here. I came across it a few weeks ago at a mega-garage sale held at a church in our neighborhood, and I must say it is the best $2 we ever spent! The girls both love it (although you couldn't tell LL does from her expression here, but maybe that's headlock induced!) and it's small enough, as you can see, so LL was able to learn to climb and slide all by herself very quickly.
Another thing of interest in our backyard came to light today. Over the last month, we've seen a raccoon in our backyard about half a dozen times...always while we were inside, during the day, and I assumed he was just passing through since he usually came from the same direction and went out over our fence in the same spot. Well today, Trey and I were sitting outside on the patio around noon when who should come over the fence in his usual exit spot but the big and brave raccoon? And he proceeded to ignore my "shoos" and run right across our yard in front of us and climb the big tree in OUR yard, going into a hole about 40 feet up (between the lowest branches) which we never knew was there before and which we now know must be his home. Then this evening, after the girls ate supper out on the patio, we were watching some squirrels run up the tree when suddenly LL started pointing way up high and saying, "Doggie! Doggie!" This would have seemed weird, but since he'd given himself away just a few hours earlier, it was no surprise when I looked up and saw the raccoon absolutely stretched out on a branch, no doubt just reclining comfortably on his "front porch" at the end of a long day. AG said, "Is that OUR raccoon?" (and we thought we were a petless family!!)We watched him for a long time and AG concluded that he's a nice raccoon, but I hope she doesn't get too attached because a plan has already been made involving a trap and a call to Animal Control so that our very tiny "garden" can remain intact and the other obvious risks can be avoided!
That's about it for now! Hope everyone will have a good weekend and a Happy early Mother's Day to our friends and family!
